1959
Left school and started work at James Television, Boutport Street, Barnstaple, North Devon as a sort of apprentice under the care of a guy from Liverpool. The workshop was a shed out the back of the main shop. The shop sold everything, televisions, radios, washing machines and musical instruments. Roy James the owner was an armature trumpet player and often you could here him practicing on slow days.
