M.V. Empire Windrush (14414 tons gross)
In 1950 Mum and myself returned to England for a holiday. We traveled on the MV Empire Windrush from Malta to probably Southampton. Christmas day was spent on board but all I can recall is Father Christmas appearing from the funnel. The Captain of the Empire Windrush was Commander W Wilson O.B.E.  I believe the Empire Windrush caught fire and sank several years later, if anyone knows more about this vessel please let me know.

Above and below the menu for the children's Christmas party on the Empire Windrush.

Dad with his team at Ricasoli in Malta. The team were Jack Shepherd, H. Luck, A Dawson and on the right Charlie Magro. The cakes and Christmas fare were produced for the Royal Navy ships in and around Malta.
