November: Changed the car for a VW, bad decision! Nothing but trouble.
 Moved to another flat, the front one above. It was owned by an interesting Italian couple. He had emigrated to Australia before the second world ware anf had been a miner in the outback. After he had established himself he sent for his wife. Although she had been in Australia for over 40 years she still dressed in the traditional black long dress and only spoke a few words of english. You never saw her outside the house on her own. |
 December: Drove to Sydney, Canberra, Snowy Mountains, Melbourne and back to Adelaide around the coast. While in Sydney met up again with Stephen Moore, (see 1961) who now has a business in Australia Square, Sydney. |
